Within the Olympics, there has been decades of challenges, obstacles, and growth amongst the games that define our competitive advantage as a nation. In specific, female games have seen a massive rise since the Olympics first debuted over 100 years ago in Antwerp, Belgium. Whether this is due to changes of the times, or the uproar of female movements in the 70’s and 80’s, female Olympians were finally offered the opportunity to make a name for themselves.

The Olympics infographic below highlights this, showing how the games developed in terms of sexual diversity throughout the years of its existence. One thing to note is how each woman listed made a massive movement for women worldwide, and provided a foundation for the women who followed. While studying these ideals, I chose to display the woman on a red background with heavy contrast, to show how though their impact may have been large, the inclusion of women still remained small, displayed by the lack of red on the side of data display.
